Aqua therapy

Aqua therapy refers to water-based treatments or exercises of therapeutic intent, in particular for relaxation, fitness, and physical rehabilitation. Treatments and exercises are performed while floating, partially submerged, or fully submerged in water. Aquatic therapy procedures are constantly attendance by our therapist, and are performed in a specialized temperature-controlled pool. Preventive Rehab – Recurrent Injuries

Recurrent injury is an injury to any location on the body that previously sustained the same injury. It can be due to an accident, sport, or work-related. Sports injuries can often be recurrent with subsequent injuries being influenced by the first injury. Most of the recurrent injuries are usually worse than the initial injury, as a tendon or muscle that was partially torn the first time may severely rupture the next time. Recurrent injuries could have a severe impact on the health and future participation of the injured, and could even challenge the career of an athletewith a history of ankle injury will need to keep his / her balance intacted all time to prevent or reduce re injury.

Soft Tissue Techniques

Trauma, accidents, local inflammation, immobilization and emotional tension all can lead to the local irritation that causes muscle tension. As muscle tension increases a number of problems occur: muscle fibers tighten, blood vessels become compressed, tissue metabolites are retained and local edema occurs. This process eventually leads to limited muscular elongation, restricted joint movement, tendon function restrictions, fascial shortening and a functional disability.

The choice of technique is based largely on treatment goals. There are three basic methods used when treating with soft tissue techniques:

• Traction techniques (or stretching techniques) engage the origin and insertion of the myofascial structures by longitudinally stretching the muscle fibers.

• Kneading techniques involve a rhythmic lateral stretching of the myofascial structure much like stretching a bowstring. In these techniques, the origin and insertion of the muscle remain stationary.

• Inhibition techniques use sustained deep pressure to promote soft tissue relaxation.

• Soft tissue techniques need not be painful be it trigger point release, myfascial release, we respect pain.

Joint Manual techniques

Joint Manual therapy techniques like specific hands on techniques are used to diagnose and treat soft tissues and joints to reduce pain, increase range of motion, facilitate movement and improve function. We use an integrated movement therapy approach.

Rigid Taping:

Is the process of applying tape directly to the skin in order to maintain a stable position of bones and muscles during athletic activity. It is a procedure that uses tape, attached to the skin, to physically keep in place muscles or bones at a certain position. This reduces pain and aids recovery. Taping is usually used to help recover from overuse and other injuries.

Kinesiology Tap:

These tapes work through proprioceptive mechanism to reduce pain, swelling and the function, after all the stain and the nervous system share the same ectoderm of the embryo.

Radial Plus wave therapy:

Radial pulse wave therapy is an acoustic wave which carries high energy to painful spots and myoskeletal tissues with subacute, subchronic and chronic conditions. The energy promotes regeneration and reparative process of the bones, tendons and other soft tissues by causing micro-ruptures due to this process arterioles are remodeled, stimulated to grow and new arterioles are formed. Thereby improving blood supply and oxygenation of the treated area and support faster healing of tissues.

Dry Needling

Dry Needling is a western form of "Acupuncture" and this treatment has been described using many names. Dry Needling is the most current term. Acupuncture is based on traditional Chinese medicine and Acupuncture needling treatment occurs along the meridian system. Modern Dry Needling is based on western neuroanatomy and modern scientific study of the musculoskeletal and nervous system.

Electrotherapy : Electrokinetics and Cryokinetics

Electrotherapy is the use of electrical energy as a form of medical treatment to reduce pain andinflammation, increase circulation, muscle reeducation, tissue repair and healing. Various form of electrotherapy is Microcurrent, interferential therapy, ultrasound, LASER, electrical muscle stimulation, TEN.

Electrokinetics: Electrokinetics is a treatment form where electro-therapeutic modalities like IFT & Electrical Muscle Stimulators are used along with active exercise to reeducate muscles, increase muscle strength , improve blood circulation, relaxation of muscle spasm, preventing disuse atrophy and muscle wasting and increase range of motion of joints.

Cryokinetcs: Cryokinetics is a rehabilitation technique which involves application of ice followed by active exercise. Applying ice to a certain body part creates numbness in the area which is followed by active rehabilitation exercise till the numbness last thereby restoring range of motion and increase muscle strength.

Workstation & Posture Evaluation & Correction

Posture evaluation is done to evaluate muscular imbalance which is one of the cause of structural misalignments of bones and joints leading pain&injuries, posture correction is done by various stretching, strengthening and stabilization exercise to restore muscular balance.

Fascial Manual Therapy

Fascia is a connective tissue, it connect one joint to other muscle to the bone and one organ to another, fascia tightness in the sole of the foot can affect the tension in the lower back. Fascial manual therapy focuses on the fascia, in particular the deep muscular fascia, as a three-dimensional continuum. Once a limited or painful movement is identified, a specific point on the fascia is implicated and through the appropriate manipulation of this precise part of the fascia, movement can be restored.

Hometherapy includes exercise related to activities of daily living for geriatric and special population and rehabilitate to become functionally independent. If you are unable to visit our centre we visit you to provide home physiotherapy for Orthopedics and post surgical conditions.

Exercise prescription for normal population

Exercise prescription for general population is based on American College of Sports Medicine principles, treatment are made according to their current fitness level. Assessments include Risk Factor Evaluation. Baseline Health / Fitness assessment using Cardio Vascular stress test, muscle endurance, strength and flexibility test. The outcome measurements are used as baseline values for exercise prescription.

Exercise prescription for clients with life style disease

Life style disease like Obesity, Diabetes, Hypertension respond well to exercise, when done under professional guidance exercise are safe and effective.

Exercise prescription for clients with orthopedic ailments

Exercise can be done to improve health and fitness in orthopedic injury, by carefully modifying the techniques and eliminating the predisposing factors for injury.

Rehab and fitness training for clients with special needs

Rehabilitation using exercise and aquatherapy for people with conditions like scoliosis, Polio, Muscular Dystrophy, Post Surgical Rehabilitation, to improve their muscle strength and restore range of motion in joints for being functionally active.

Sports Training for Athletes & Sportsman

Sports specific training according to the needs of the sport, whether power endurance or speed endurance can be trained with the help of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation techniques, functional training(Body weight training), body weight exercise, plyometrics, speed and agility drills to improve the performance of athletes in their respective sports.

Balance and strength training for the elderly

Elderly people are more susceptible to injuries due to fall, proprioceptive exercise or balance training exercise reduces their chances of fall and injuries and strength training exercise using freeweights, theraband, resistence tubes increased their muscle strength and keep the joints strong and healthy thereby making them functionally independent in their activities of daily living.

Specific training for children

Children are special population; Exercise not only improves strength in bones and muscles, but also improves memory and concentration, when exercises are done safely for children, there are no deleterious effects. Training for children are done using Thera band, free weights, bodyweight exercise, trampoline and wobble boards to improve strength, balance and co-ordination.

We take the time to listen closely and to understand where you are right now in terms of your lifestyle and diet, and work with you to help achieve your goals. Nutrition counseling will be done by a certifiednutrition consultant .Nutritionists are qualified to create individual action plans to help you adopt a healthier lifestyle.
Sports Nutrition counselling is done for sports personnel on achieving and maintaining a level of body mass, body fat, and muscle mass that is consistent with good health and good performance. Also counsel on optimal nutrition for exercise training, competition, recovery from exercise, injury or illness, weight management and hydration.
